Why To Know The Past Of Delhi

"We study the past to understand the present;
                           we understand the present to guide the future."
                                                                                              William

It is observed that a common man is becoming very interested to know about the past of his / her City. The knowledge of past opens multiple ways for future as may be seen in the case of past of India, China, Africa, Latin America etc. Knowledge of past is a pool which always keeps alive the consciousness of a civilization in a society. In fact, the entire growth of human beings is dependent on the knowledge developed as an experience of past and it is most important tool to learn/teach required making the decision to proceed forward. The knowledge of facts of the historical remains only can help us to know about the past of our city. Hence the monuments are to be protected so that the stories of past of Delhi can proved using historical remains as evidence. To protect popular or unknown monument of Delhi, it is necessary that each and every citizen must be aware about its past which acted as microcosm for medieval India such as poetry and bond of student & teacher of Amir Khusrau & Nizamuudin Auliya (Greatest bond after Chankya & Chandrgupta) Kingship of first women ruler of India, Razia Sultan, Chisti Sufism, fragrance of Mirza Ghalib, emergence of Urdu language etc. “Virasat” means remains of past or heritage. The aim of “Delhi Ki Virasat” is to do all efforts to make the people, students etc. aware about the rich heritage of multiculturalism of Delhi related to all monuments or historical remains so that they can be protected by the public themselves with the help of Government.
